International
Wine Media
Association
The International Wine Media Association brings together writers, journalists, and communicators from across the globe. Our mission is to connect, support, and champion those who share the stories of wine, offering a space for collaboration, resources, and professional recognition within the industry..
What we do
The way we talk about wine has changed. Today, the stories of vineyards, bottles, and people are told not only through newspapers and magazines, but also through podcasts, newsletters, Instagram feeds, YouTube channels, and countless digital platforms. The voices shaping how the world experiences wine are more diverse, more creative, and more international than ever before.
That is why we are proud to launch the International Wine Media Association (IWMA), a new organisation dedicated to supporting and connecting the global community of professional wine communicators.
What is IWMA?
The IWMA is an invitation-only network of writers, journalists, broadcasters, and digital creators who are making a recognised contribution to wine media. It is designed to be professional yet modern, selective without being stuffy, and international in scope.
What membership means
Members of the IWMA will be able to use the association’s badge as a mark of credibility, gain access to unique opportunities, and become part of a forward-looking global network. There will be no outdated hierarchies, every member is recognised equally as a professional contributor to the wine conversation.
Our aims
- To give members credibility and recognition as part of a professional organisation.
- To connect traditional and new voices in wine media under one umbrella.
- To create opportunities for members to access press trips, events, and collaborations through Press-Trip.com.
- To encourage diversity, inclusivity, and the growth of fresh perspectives in wine communication.
Why now?
The wine industry has long valued its storytellers. But in an era where the media landscape has transformed, there is a need for an organisation that reflects today’s reality: professional, international, and embracing both traditional and digital platforms. The IWMA fills that space.
How to join
Membership is by invitation only. If you are a writer, broadcaster, or digital creator working in wine and are interested in joining, you can register your interest here.
